Zim se vergete oues

Dear friends & Supporters,

Our hearts swell with deepest appreciation and gratitude for your spirit of sharing always giving us hope our Golden Oldies are eternally grateful for your love and care. A HUGE THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has supported us to date.

Please find in good order our August 2017 Trip Report and our 2017 Christmas Appeal.

Annual Adopt a Golden Oldie for Christmas – 21 Boxes for our Golden Oldies Adopted for far, Yippee, Still 630 to go. Then The Frail Care parcels and Kitchen Gifts. It’s that time of the year again and we at the ZPSF would like to be able to make the upcoming Christmas of 2017 extra special for our pensioners Come on guys we can do this, let’s keep the momentum going!! I am once again going to take on the HUGE task of getting all of our Golden Oldies adopted for Christmas this year. We managed to get everyone adopted last year so let’s see what we can achieve this year. The partial name list of pensioners receiving individual boxes that are up for adoption can be found on our Group and Page on FB. The current cost of adopting a single person for Christmas will be about R800. (SAME AS THE PAST 2 YEARS) Even if a group of friends make a joint donation to adopt a Golden Oldie or just add to the Christmas kitty for those who are not yet adopted. Your support will go a long way to help making them feel very special this Christmas. If you can please send me an email with the proof of payment and name of the Golden Oldie you wish to Adopt for Christmas to linda@zpsf.co.za so that I can correctly allocate the donation to the Golden Oldie adopted and send you a thank you note.

Please note only the Gifts are coming up from SA we will still be packing the Food parcels to go with the Gifts in Zimbabwe. The above amount covers a complete box for a Golden Oldie and not just a Gift. Please any amount no matter how small will help us achieve our Goals this Christmas for our Golden Oldies.

As usual things here at the office are hectic as we continue trying to raise funds for the Biggest trip of the year our Special Christmas one. We are currently busy with the paper work to get the Christmas pressies up to Zimbabwe. Once we are in Zims we will then be purchasing and picking up to food for the boxes and doing the final packing. Our nerves are stretched. But it is people like you who keep us going and our faith high and going strong.

With two large trucks we shift around 18-20 tons of non-perishable food and medical aides such as wheelchairs, crutches, walking aids, spectacles and non-scheduled medicines every 8 weeks to our Golden Oldies. Over the past few years funds have trickled down and we are battling to make ends meet in our continued goal to support our pensioners. We firmly believe that had it not been for Hannes’s tenacious and “Bull Terrier” like spirit, this years “roadblocks and curved balls” would have ended this project. Yet as he has said many times to us, “these people are my life and nothing will stop me from serving them with payback”.

We welcome anyone who wishes to come and see our warehouse in Malelane and what we do.
